We strongly recommend you integrate the “root” browse in either API to give your users the widest variety of content options. Of course, if you wish to include or exclude specific items, you will need to link directly to the categories.
Considerations
Radio content is fairly dynamic. Any given menu may change as a result of the time of day, the player capabilities available, the user’s location, and restrictions broadcasters may impose.
The services choose a “smart” result ordering for the browse type. For example, in local US markets, you will see stations ordered by frequency, just as you would on a normal radio. Elsewhere we might choose an alphabetic order or a relevancy order.
