DALLAS – July 7, 2009 – RadioTime, Inc., a developer of technology for finding and listening to radio online, today released the first RadioTime.com Top 19 Programs, a list of the most listened-to programs on RadioTime.com for the month of June 2009. The list, which RadioTime will update monthly, features some well-known programs and demonstrates how RadioTime enables users to discover lesser-known shows airing around the world.

The five most popular programs are: “Rush Limbaugh,” “Steve Harvey,” “The Savage Nation,” “Glenn Beck” and “Laura Ingraham.” Three sports programs make the list, including two shows airing on The Ticket 1310 AM/104.1 FM in Dallas, Tex., “The Musers” and “The Hardline.”

“Listeners use RadioTime to find their favorite station format and engaging personalities,” says Dan Halyburton, President, RadioTime, Inc. “The Ticket 1310 AM and 104.1 FM in Dallas is a web favorite, demonstrating Internet radio’s ability to help a local station compete on a worldwide stage.”

RadioTime.com’s international presence is evident, with BBC Radio 1’s “The Chris Moyles Show” and BBC Radio 4’s “Today” placing eleventh and fourteenth respectively. NPR’s top program is “Morning Edition,” which ranks seventh overall.

“Our objectives for our new RadioTime.com Top 19 Programs list is to show which programs are the favorites among our users right now and to help them discover new favorites, so we expect to see additional shows and on-air personalities make future lists even if they are not syndicated programs,” adds Halyburton.

VIZIO reveals dynamic new content partners for VIZIO Internet apps connected HDTV feature.(PRNewsFoto/VIZIO, Inc.)

June 22nd 2009 – IRVINE, CA UNITED STATES – VIZIO enables web-based content to be easily accessible and viewed simultaneously with any input on the HDTV and is displayed in an easy to navigate, non-intrusive menu that can be adjusted to fit around the video on your TV screen.

“Consumers are placing high value on connected televisions that open up new content applications,” said Kurt Scherf, vice president and principal analyst at Parks Associates. “Our recent research has identified a likely target of 2.5 million North American broadband households that are ready to purchase an Internet-connected TV.”

VIZIO’s VIA(TM) Connected HDTV feature includes integrated wireless (802.11n dual-band) and wired networking for easy connection to the Internet right out of the box. VIZIO HDTVs enabled with this platform guide the user through a quick step-by-step set up process that runs as soon as the TV is turned on for the first time. Users simply select their wireless network from a list of all available networks (automatically discovered) to connect their VIZIO HDTV to the Internet. They also have the option to plug in an Ethernet cable directly to the VIZIO HDTV to access the Internet.

VIA(TM) Connected HDTVs also come with a customized universal remote control with built-in QWERTY keyboard that slides open to allow users to easily type keywords for their favorite movies, TV shows, music, chat, or simply enter logins and passwords for their favorite services. Equipped with Bluetooth, the customized remote also provides users with the added convenience of being able to type without having to point the remote at the TV. In addition, the customized universal remote has been designed with traditional infrared capabilities to allow consumers to control all of their existing CE devices connected to the television, such as DVD and Blu-ray players, VCRs, audio devices, cable and satellite set-top boxes, DVRs, and other AV equipment.

“We are excited by the support of the additional content and service providers being announced today. The overwhelming response so far from the biggest brands in this space validates our unique approach in addressing the growing consumer demand for online content and services on the biggest screen in the home,” said Matthew McRae, Vice President of Products at VIZIO. “Understanding that consumers still expect the TV to remain first and foremost the entertainment centerpiece of the home, we’ve gone to great lengths to ensure that the VIA platform integrates seamlessly with the existing TV experience and makes web-based content as easily discoverable as flipping the channel.”

VIZIO’s VIA(TM) Connected HDTV feature incorporates multiple technologies and software services to enable a unique experience that hides all of the complexity from viewers. One such technology is the Yahoo! Widget Engine, which provides an open platform that allows a new class of Internet services, called TV Widgets, to thrive in the TV environment. VIZIO’s platform also includes support for the Adobe(R) Flash(R) Platform for the Digital Home, an optimized implementation of Flash technology that enables developers and content providers to deliver HD video, rich applications and other Web content to Internet-connected televisions, set-top boxes, Blu-ray players and other devices in the digital home.

Previously, VIZIO announced a number of popular content and service providers who are building VIZIO Internet Apps (VIA(TM)) including: Accedo Broadband(R), Amazon Video On Demand(R), Blockbuster On Demand(R), Flickr(R), Netflix(R), Pandora(R) and Rhapsody(R).

Now VIZIO is pleased to reveal additional leading content and service providers also working to bring their compelling entertainment, social networking, information and interactive services to the platform this year, including:

RadioTime (www.radiotime.com) - makes it easy for listeners find local, national, or global radio programming airing on more than 60,000 AM/FM and Internet radio stations in 140 countries broadcasting in 55 languages.

“Due to its rising brand recognition among consumers, VIZIO again took the lead in U.S. FLAT PANEL-TV shipments in the first quarter of 2009,” said Riddhi Patel, principal analyst, television, for the market research firm iSuppli Corp., El Segundo, Calif. “iSuppli expects the U.S. Flat panel TV market to reach 32 million units of which LCD TVs will account for 28 million units in 2009. Shipments of LCD-TVs with full-HD resolution – i.e. 1080p – will account for nearly half the market during the year. Sets that provide superior image quality and lower energy consumption by employing 120Hz refresh rates and LED backlighting and connectivity with Internet are expected to be in strong demand as consumers become more discerning in their LCD-TV choices.”

RadioTime and Omnilala Provide the Software and Content for Internet Radio Device Manufacturers

DALLAS, Nov 11, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) — RadioTime, Inc., a developer of technology for finding and listening to radio online, and Omnilala, Inc., which develops and licenses the underlying software platform that powers a new wave of digital media products, today announced that they have partnered to deliver key technology implementation for manufacturers of Internet-connect radios and media players. The agreement is a worldwide license and marketing alliance where Omnilala’s lala(R)Player Engine OEM software and lala(R) software and hardware products include RadioTime access.
RadioTime provides a quick and easy way to find radio content from thousands of stations and local and syndicated shows. Listeners can browse by genre or location to see what is available for their tastes, locations, connections, and at various times during the day. RadioTime updates its guide with input from its user community and by leveraging its relationships with Clear Channel, Cox Radio and other broadcasters.
Omnilala provides consulting services to leaders in the home digital audio industry. It licenses its software and hardware designs that connect plug-and-play digital media products and networks, and it can assist device manufacturers in all stages of development, from concept creation to product launch.
“The combination of Omnilala and RadioTime technologies provides OEMs with the building blocks to introduce new, high-performance Internet-connected radios and media players,” said Baruch Russo, CEO, Omnilala, Inc. “RadioTime and Omnilala unchain people from their PCs and let them experience radio from all over the world in any room in their homes.”

The combination provides OEMs with a lower cost/risk way of integrating the RadioTime guide from experienced professionals.

“Providing access to AM/FM radio online is just the first step in the necessary evolution of the radio industry,” said Bill Moore, CEO, RadioTime. “Listeners want the convenience of using the Internet to search for and listen to their favorite music and talk programs, and they want to be able to do so just as they have used the traditional AM/FM tuner on their home stereo systems and kitchen radios. Our partnership with Omnilala enables RadioTime to help the industry compete in an online world and expands the potential market for our product.”

RadioTime technology powers the radio guide for Sonos System Software 2.7

DALLAS – October 28, 2008 – RadioTime, Inc., a developer of technology for finding and listening to radio online, today announced that Sonos®, Inc. has integrated the RadioTime Guide into its Sonos Multi-Room Music System powered by the new Sonos System Software 2.7[AR1] . RadioTime and Sonos enable listeners to tune into the unique personalities and programs that only radio can offer, and do so free of charge without being tethered to a computer.

RadioTime provides a quick and easy way to find local and syndicated radio programming airing on thousands of stations around the world. Listeners can browse by genre or location to see what is available to match their tastes any time of day or night.

“Sonos makes it very easy to find all the features that really set live radio apart from streaming music services, and that is critical to broadcasters’ efforts to retain existing listeners and attract new ones,” said Bill Moore, CEO, RadioTime. “Radio is still the only medium that features the on-air personalities, talk shows, music, and up-to-the-minute news, sports and entertainment information that makes radio so great, and Sonos has opened an entire world’s worth of this unique programming to its users.”

Sonos has found 80 percent of its customers regularly use the Sonos system to tune to live radio, and decided to partner with RadioTime to expand the live and on-demand content available to listeners.

“We looked at alternatives and found RadioTime to clearly be the best option based on the combination of the sheer breadth of content it offers, its reliability and its use of open standard APIs,” said Phil Abram. President, Sonos, Inc. “The RadioTime technology makes finding a station in your local market, across the country or internationally incredibly easy. You simply use the “radio” menu on the device to search by station name, call letters, program genre or even the names of specific on-air personalities. Once you find a station or program you like, you can add it your Favorites for future listening.”
