RadioTime highlights for the week of September 7, 2009

On Monday, KEXP continues a live broadcast from Bumbershoot in Seattle. Starting at 3 PM Eastern, listeners will hear live sets from Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears, The Cave Singers, Akron/Family, Vieux Farka Toure, and Metric.
On Tuesday, BBC Radio 6 offers live coverage of the annual Mercury Prize, given for the year’s best album from the UK or Ireland. Steve Lamacq hosts Tuesday’s show beginning at 1 PM Eastern. This year’s nominees include Bat for Lashes, Friendly Fires, Glasvegas, and Kasabian.
On Wednesday, Absolute Radio airs a special which looks back at The Beatles’ “Rubber Soul” album. The show is hosted by Ben Jones and airs at 4 PM Eastern. It is part of a month long tribute to The Beatles on Absolute Radio. The station will be looking back on the entire Beatles’ catalogue throughout September. Wednesday marks the release of The Beatles re-masters as well as the release of “The Beatles: Rock Band.”
On Thursday, Ziggy Marley visits World Cafe. The show airs on WXPN at 2 PM Eastern.
On Friday, Crazy Cousinz takes over BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix. The show begins at 8 PM Eastern on BBC Radio 1.
